Dive into an all new world of magic and wonder! Alesia is made up of two separate continents, on which several unique realms thrive. Here you will discover the countries and kingdoms that make up this enchanting world.
The Middle Kingdom of the western continent. Like the other kingdoms, Solheim was established shortly after the Warring Clans Period. Nestled in the fertile valleys between the Carim and Aspen Mountains, the country flourished. Rich in natural resources, Solheim quickly established itself as a hub for trade and quickly grew in power and influence. Primarily made up of Human and Drynarian populations, there are still several nomadic Johte'ir clans--the Punai--who roam the plains.
The Capitol city of Lyrias is situated in a small valley on the northern edge of the Carim Mountains. It was built around an enormous tree which, according to legend, is where the hero Beaudernic is buried. Ruled by King Lyonett, the kingdom has continued to prosper. For generations Solheim has existed peacefully between its northern and southern neighbors, though unrest from the south seems to threaten their tranquil way of life.
Located on the southern side of the Carim Mountains, Tenebrae is rumored to be the home of wild beasts and monsters. It is believed that dragons still live within the Obsidian Peaks to the south of the country. Also established following the Warring Clans Period, The Empire soon became well known for its military prowess and its strong and hearty people. The wild landscapes of the southern kingdom have given rise to a more hostile environment than Solheim. Though largely cut off from its northern neighbors, Tenebrae often trades with the eastern continent and the islands along the Jeweled Coast. With limited resources, the Dens/families who inhabit the Empire often compete with one another, giving rise to the hierarchy within the country.
The Capitol city of Ul Wita'esi stands within a small valley just south of Rokerth Academy. A prosperous and diverse metropolis, the capitol is home to the political elite. Ruled by Emperor Dyrein, Tenebrae has enjoyed several years of prosperity.
Covered in vast forests, the Kingdom of Eldea is as mysterious as it is beautiful. Though largely established prior to the Warring Clans Period, final borders were drawn to provide a much needed division from its southern neighbors. A purely Johte'ir kingdom, Eldea is deeply rooted in its coexistence with nature. Many strange magics permeate the country, making it a leader in arcane knowledge and spirituality. The people of Eldea tend to keep to themselves, though they do occasionally trade with the Kingdom of Solheim. Unlike the Punai clans of Solheim, the Johte'ir clans of Eldea are not nomadic and instead live in well established cities.
Ruled by Queen Aureliana, the capitol of M'yen Aethel has enjoyed decades of peace and prosperity. Largely removed from outside political influence, the Eldean people have existed as a neutral party to its two southern neighbors. Desiring a peaceful existence, Eldea has refused to engage in any kind of conflict since the end of the Great Tashba War in the Second Age.
Located on the eastern continent, Kasai is vastly different from the cultures of the western continent. The Bisath Mountains separates The Dynasty from the Jeweled Coast and the islands to the south. Its vast diversity of landscapes--from mountains, to thick forests, to coastal towns--allows its people to be very adaptable. Rich in natural resources, Kasai is a leader in international commerce. Trading in assets such as silk, spices, jade, fire opals, and blue obsidian, Kasai has become one of the richest countries in Alesia.
Separated by the Bisath Mountains, the southern peninsula and its islands are made up of individual city states. Though not technically a unified nation, they are instead joined together by a cohesive military, also known as The Concord. Made up of a strong naval fleet, the Concord has defended the Jeweled Coast's independence for decades. Several of the southern islands are key stops along the maritime trade routes, making the Jeweled Coast quite prosperous. Thanks to international trade, the coast has flourished.
The Islands of the Jeweled Coast are known for their beautiful weather and rich culture. Because the coast is made up of many different races and cultures, it has become a unique melting pot of people and customs. In the wake of their prosperity, the islands have become popular travel destinations for the wealthy.
A mysterious island nestled in the middle of the ocean. Rumored to be haunted and protected by strange magic, none have ever explored the island. Many of Alesia's peoples believe it to be the where the Tree of Life resides. Many believe that all souls come to rest on Caelus, the spirits of the deceased returning once more to the Tree of Life. Because of its strong association with life and death, the island is largely avoided out of superstition. Those who have ventured closer were thwarted by the jagged cliffs that surround the island.
Some Johte'ir cultures believe it to be the last home of the ancient Tashba Race. However, since the island has been unexplored and Tashba sightings have been nothing but rumors for more than a thousand years, this has yet to be proven true.
